GE Aviation Launches Manufacturing In Singapore 

Manufacturing of high-technology engine parts in Singapore has begun at GE Aviation’s facilities on the island. The first parts — blade dampers and seals for GE’s CF6 and CF34 aircraft and LM marine engines—were shipped on Jan. 22.

The shipment is a major milestone for GE Aviation Service Operation (GEASO) and marks its emergence as a manufacturer and supplier in GE’s global supply chain. The facility began as a component repair shop in 1981.

Singapore Airshow: A380 Teething Problems Solved, Says SIA Engineering Company 

Maintaining the Airbus A380 for lead operator Singapore Airlines involved “a steep learning curve,” said SIA Engineering Co. (SIAEC), adding that “the MRO found solutions to teething problems and successfully managed a smooth entry-into-service.”
