Business Aircraft Flight Activity Records Strong Growth In July

U.S. business aircraft flight activity in July rose 5.6%, reflecting the largest year-over-year rise since February 2012, according to a just-released ARGUS TRAQPak report. More growth is expected, it said. Flight activity grew significantly in Part 91 and Part 135 markets in July, as compared to July 2014, according to the data. Part 91 activity grew 3.8%, while Part 135 activity rose 9.6% in July. Fractional activity rose year-over-year in July for the first time since Nov. 2014, with a 2.8% increase.

FlightSafety Adding King Air 350 Simulator To Atlanta Center

FlightSafety International is building a full-flight simulator for King Air 350 aircraft for its Learning Center in Atlanta. The new FS1000 simulator will be equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system. The Level D simulator is expected to enter service in early 2016. Training will include FlightSafety’s Operational DayFlow training methodology, which presents critical procedures and tasks according to the phase of flight.

Aviation Partners Receives EASA STC For Split-Scimitar-Winglet Retrofit

Aviation Partners, based in Seattle, has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for retrofitting its Split-Scimitar Winglet on BBJ aircraft, the company said. The approval was granted to Aviation Partners Boeing (APB), a joint venture between API and Boeing. The supplemental type certificate follows FAA STC approvals issued earlier this year. The Split-Scimitar Winglet is now standard equipment on new 737NG BBJ aircraft.
