Have they even fired the first stage with all 9 engines running for the required duration? If not, I doubt they are close to getting off the ground this year - let alone launching commercial...
Why not keep the A-10s? We manage with the B-52. Both are (and the C130) are legendary for a reason - no?!?
Lateral thinking says power the C-17 fleet with low cost oil (aka fraking). Otherwise, re-engine it with a GTF if/when oil hits $100/barrel. Otherwise, spend time on other issues/problems.
Does it matter if the airframe is stealthy is it is using a massive radar?
Any info on the engine for the A350-2000? It might not be quite as simple as the 'push' on the B777-10X.
