The A380 is a beautiful bird to fly on, as was Concorde. But the two seem to share one thing in common - questionable economics.
I doubt we'll see anything this side of 2030, maybe never.
If the role is the same then surely an A-10 Mk II is what's needed. Or maybe a Scorpion, with more power and armour.
USAF seems to be out of its collective mind.
For years they have been trying to get rid of the A-10, now they are thinking of not just one, but two replacements.

From a passenger perspective, the A380 is definitely not 'a dog.'
Just the opposite actually, and Emirates will back me on that, with many passenger surveys underlining the A380's...
If you wait to fix our problems here on Earth, you'll wait forever.
Point is, one does not preclude the other, so get on with fixing problems while doing the big bold things.
