Don't overspec, don't change the spec, don't ask too much of one design.
Four engines may mark it out as a expensive flight solution, but it could be interesting as part of a two-way deal - P-1s for Typhoons, perhaps.

How about sticking to basics and going for an off the shelf design or perhaps revamp the F-20...
