Rolls-Royce will triple the number of its authorized service centers (ASC) around the world by the end of this year in a major expansion spurred by the entry into service of the globe-trotting Gulfstream 650.

The company announced in May that it intended to increase its ASC network to 19 by the end of the year. It will now have agreements in place with 34 maintenance providers worldwide by year-end, says Andy Robinson, senior vice president for customer services.

“We had nine ASCs in the beginning of the year,” he says. Locations will mirror deliveries of the G650, with an acceleration of support plans particularly in China, elsewhere in Asia, and South America.

ASC are approved by Rolls-Royce after inspection of recommended tooling, inventory, and a minimum number of trained engineers. They must also pass a quality audit every three months.
