In researching AW&ST's Top 10 Airframe MRO feature, I gathered far more information than what made it into the article. As promised in my editor's note, here are a few interesting items I wish I could've included--but didn't because of space constrains:
* Aeroplex of Central Europe suffered a huge drop in 2012 airframe output in 2012 due to the one-time impact from Malev's bankruptcy. ACE, however, has emerged as an independent but state-owned MRO and expects growth this year.
*Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services expects its airframe MRO man-hours to increase 10% this year. It provided 34 C checks in 2012.
* Ameco Beijing expects business jet completions, engine MRO and landing gear maintenance to be its biggest business growth areas over the next few years.
Stay tuned! More tomorrow.
