Aviation Week's Engine Forum and MRO Asia Conferences kick off today, and to set the stage, here are a few engine points gleaned from this morning's sessions:
1. In 2012, 56% of aircraft in Asia have logged less than 7 years of service, compared to 34% in other regions, says Aviation Week's Paul Chen.
2. David Stewart of ICF SH&E says the global engine MRO spend this year will be $20.6 billion. The Asia Pacific and China markets represent about 28% of that now but by 2021, the region will represent the highest absolute growth in terms of revenue.
