Our Aug. 26 cover story takes an in-depth look at the next U.S. space mission to the red planet.
Aviation Week’s Frank Morring and Guy Norris were lucky enough to get up close and personal with the Maven (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) mission spacecraft at Lockheed Martin’s facility in Littleton, Colorado during the final stages of integration.
Maven will try to find out what became of the water that once ran on Mars. It is scheduled for launch from Kennedy Space Center in a 20-day window that opens Nov. 18. Click here to take a look at the instruments on Maven.
