At 0500 EST on Friday, I posted on this web site an exclusive report by Aviation Week’s senior editor Guy Norris about Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works plans for a successor to the SR-71, the SR-72 (read it here).
Several hundred tweets, retweets and linkbacks later, when the east coast was just getting through its first cup of coffee, aviationweek.com went down. The high demand for the report, accompanying images and graphics appears to have broken the web site.
