Airbus has been talking a lot in recent months about concerns its suppliers may crack under the pressure of its own production ramp-up and the demand placed on smaller companies by other aircraft makers.
So if you are a supplier, how do you gauge how you are doing?
Here’s some advice Airbus executive vice president for programs, Tom Williams, has for companies he works with.
“If I haven’t visited you, or called you, that’s a good sign.”
However, he notes, “if I’ve visited you twice or called you twice, that’s a really bad sign because I’ll probably not visit or call a third time.”
