Airbus Military may have had to delay the start of functional and reliability testing of the A400M because of issues with one of its TP400D engines, but that has not put the development program on hold.
The aircraft maker recently conducted flight trials of one of the airlifters behind an A330-based FSTA tanker for the Royal Air Force. The goal is to validate the handling of the A400M and tweak, as necessary, flight control laws.

Actual refuelings between the two aircraft have not taken place yet, although Airbus Military says 30 "dry" contacts were made.
Further trials of the type are planned, including behind a VC10.
