The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) have certified Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero) as a Part 147 maintenance training organization.

The Singapore-based MRO provider now will be able to provide EASA-certified courses covering narrowbody and widebody aircraft.

ST Aero’s president Chang Cheow Teck says this development complements the company’s pilot training business.

In a press release, cited Boeing’s recent market forecast, which says the world’s airlines will need to add 650,000 maintenance personnel over the next 20 years. The most rapid growth in demand is expected to come from the Asia Pacific region, with a need for 247,400 new personnel, says ST Aero.
