PUBLIC RELEASE: Rep. Randy Forbes (R-Va.) is pushing the Obama administration to release to Congress classified and unclassified versions of the National Security Strategy to size up how much risk the Pentagon is taking on with the defense strategic guidance outlined on Jan. 5. “The administration has failed to submit either a classified or unclassified National Security Strategy Report to Congress in both 2009 and 2011,” Forbes writes in a Jan. 20 letter. “At a time when we’re facing fiscal uncertainty and a complex global security environment, I believe this document is a critical part of our national security planning process.”
