The is investigating the Jan. 5 crash of a Challenger CL-600 at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (KASE) that reportedly killed one person and injured two others.
The aircraft, N115WF, a 1994 model Challenger, had departed Tucson, Ariz., on a two hr. 8 min. flight when it crashed while landing at KASE, according to flight-tracker Flight Aware.
The aircraft came to rest upside down and witnesses reported it bursting in to flames.
Weather at the time of the accident, Flight Aware says, was reported as winds between 10-18 mph, with clouds lowering from 4,600 ft. to 3,700 ft. and visibility lowering from 9 mi. to 7 mi. in haze.
KASE closed Jan. 5 while rescue personnel were on the scene and the investigation began into the accident.
