AVIATION WEEK’s annual Laureate Awards recognize individuals and teams for their extraordinary accomplishments. Their achievements may embody the spirit of exploration, innovation, vision or any combination of these attributes that inspire others to strive for significant, broad-reaching progress in aviation and aerospace.
Categories include:
- Aeronautics/Propulsion
- Commercial Air Transport
- Defense
- Space
- Business/General Aviation
- IT/Electronics
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) (New in 2010)
- Workforce (New in 2010)
The Workforce category will recognize diligent care, outreach, possibly experimentation and a willingness to pay more than lip service to the challenge of attracting young people to aviation and aerospace careers, developing young professionals or retaining the talent required to sustain a healthy, vibrant industry. As with all Laureate awards, the emphasis will be on achievement.
In addition, we will present the following awards:
- The Philip J. Klass Award for Lifetime Achievement to an outstanding individual
- AVIATION WEEK Heroism Award
- Tomorrow’s Leaders – honoring the young men and women who have chosen career paths in the armed forces: graduates from the US Naval Academy, US Coast Guard Academy, US Air Force Academy and the US Military Academy, sponsored by BAE Systems
