A Dana Air MD-83 crashed shortly after takeoff in a residential area of Lagos, Nigeria, on June 3, killing all aboard as well as some victims on the ground. The head of Nigeria’s civil aviation authority said all 153 passengers died, although other reports list the total as 147. There are reported to be up to 16 additional casualties on the ground.
