Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, was upbeat giving a program overview at the opening of the NBAA convention. HF120 engine certification is due before the end of the year, and first HondaJet deliveries come 12 months after that.

The fourth and final flying conforming prototype is on show here this week.

Easing the purchasing process, the company announced on Monday that it is launching American Honda Finance Corporation, which will become fully operational next year. Furthermore, a customer service facility was officially opened on October 17 at Greensboro, N.C., to provide training and 24-7 support. Six aircraft are taking shape on the line there, and Fujino expects four or five to be complete by certification time.

In the three years after that, a cumulative total of 80 will be handed over – the first to Europe six months following the FAA’s green light.
