The agreement covers the following areas of cooperation worked out by the German army command and the Polish general command:

- at the brigade level, including placing combat battalions under each others' command;
- between the combat arms of both armies: armour, reconnaissance, mountain infantry and artillery;
- training and exercises, including joint courses for young officers and cadets; and
- greater interoperability, such as common standards and regulations.

Poland and Germany signed a similar agreement on naval cooperation in Rostock on 27 May 2013.
