Photo: RAF Chinook With Underslung Loads

An RAF Chinook HC3 is seen training carrying underslung loads at RAF Odiham, England. The fleet of eight HC3s spent almost a decade stored at Boscombe Down awaiting software upgrades/fixes, but are now flying operationally.

Aviation Week Intelligence Network's Military Aircraft MRO forecast shows that the HC3 fleet will be updated in the next few years and become HC5s. At the same time the RAF will receive 14 CH-47Fs, to be known as the Chinook HC6.
