JAL CFM56 Outsourcing Decision #MROA

Tohru Saito, general manager of JAL's engine maintenance center, told MRO Asia attendees that it has narrowed the contenders to perform CFM56-7B maintenance for the carrier from six to two.

While JAL has its own engine maintenance capability inhouse, he says there is so much capacity, and "very competitive prices" for CFM56 engine MRO in the world, that the carrier decided to outsource this powerplant maintenance.

He didn't say who the six, or two, contenders are. Stay tuned!
