CFM Used Material #MROA

Bill Correll, president and CEO of CFM Materials, told MRO Asia Conference attendees here in Singapore that 25-30% of his company's material comes from part outs.

For the CFM56-3s, parts out are outpacing engine shop visits, he adds, and about 90% of a shop visit for the older engine comes from used, serviceable material.

CFM produced 4,500 -3s.

ICF SH&E estimates airline customers spend $3 billion on surplus material annually, 65% of which comes from engine parts.
