The UPS A300 that crashed in Birmingham this morning was N155UP, an A300F4-622R with Pratt & Whitney PW4158 engines according to Aviation Week Intelligence Network's Fleet database. The aircraft, s/n 841, first flew on November 3, 2003, and was delivered to UPS on February 13, 2004. As of May 2011, the aircraft had accumulated 8556 hours and 5288 cycles, but estimates put the totals to around 11200 hours and 6900 cycles at the time of the accident. It was the 34th A300 delivered by Airbus to UPS out of the 53 that were eventually delivered between 2000-2006. UPS now has a fleet of 52 A300s.
UPS ordered an initial 30 A300s in September 1998. In November 2000, an additional two aircraft were ordered. In January 2001, a large follow-on order for 58 was placed, bringing its total to 90. However, only 21 of those 58 A300s were delivered as UPS cancelled the remainder of its order in December 2005.
The last A300 off the production line was s/n 878, an A300F4-605R model delivered to FedEx in July 2007.
