50th 747-8 delivery

RSS

Lufthansa will take delivery later today of its seventh Boeing 747-8 passenger model on May 29, representing the 50th overall delivery for the latest generation of the 747 family. Delivery of the passenger variant, which entered service almost exactly one year ago, comes as flight tests continue of various improvements to the 747-8 including activation of the horizontal stabilizer fuel tank (for the passenger version) and upgrades to the aircraft’s General Electric GEnx-2B. In the background is the first UK-registered 787-8 due for imminent delivery to Thomson.
