A major air-traffic control problem that affected several important FAA systems for up to five hours this morning continues to disrupt airline operations throughout the U.S. The outage occurred at about 5 a.m. EST, and all systems were back up by 10 a.m. While FAA does not yet know the root cause of the problem, it resulted in both of FAA’s centralized flight plan processing systems going offline.
