Russian Helicopters Holding Co., is adding a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for Mi-8/17 helicopters based at the Helwan Factor for Developed Industries in Helwan, Egypt. The center is expected to certify in 2019. In the first stage, the center will maintain and overhaul Mi-8T and Mi-17-1V helicopters developed by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plan and operated by EAF. In the future, it plans to include Mi-17V-5 type aircraft.
