F-35 INTEGRATED TEST FORCE on March 29 released a specially-built GBU-12 Paveway II guided bomb from an F-35C at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA, engaging a small pickup truck March 29, marking the first weapon test of an F-35 with 3F software, designed to enhance effectiveness against moving targets. INDIAN NAVY on April 21 test-fired the BrahMos Land Attack Supersonic Cruise Missile from the guided missile frigate Teg, to a target on land.

U.S. Navy Probing T-45 Hypoxia Incidents

U.S. Navy trainees are experiencing symptoms of hypoxia while learning to fly the T-45 Goshawk, which prompted to service to ground the aircraft on April 5 to look for the cause. Instructor pilots reported “physiological episodes in the cockpit” caused by contamination in the on-board oxygen generation system. Currently the Navy has limited flights to no higher than 5,000 ft and no more than 2g maneuvering while tests on the oxygen system continue.
